[00:00:00] So I'm sitting in the home office on our additional land that we purchased, I believe in 2022. Um, and I just watched a video that I recorded in January 3rd, 2022, and it was me talking about me going to, um, pray or me going, praying about going to. Discuss purchasing additional land after we had already bought the 20 acres.
And I just wanna post that prayer because it is a six minute discussion. And then also the prayer that I was praying as a record of our journey. And I've been going back through all the videos and photos of the process that we've been through since. 2021. Really? So five years now. Not [00:01:00] in a finished house yet, but to basically go back and publish a bunch of the videos and footage of everything that we've done in the last five years, first and foremost, as a record for my descendants and the people that come after, but hopefully also to.
Give glory to our Heavenly Father all about the story that he is writing, and encourage those of you that are trying to build something that is multi-generational, to do it in faith, not do it in doubt. So here's the video and then I'll make a couple comments about what happened after that af the end of this video.
Speaker: The 63 acres of the tract land that adjoins our family's 20 acres of land, started having survey stakes show up, and I texted the owner who is who we bought our 20 acres from, and said [00:02:00] that I am committed to buying the remainder and making whatever arrangement that he felt was fair to work. Because I, not because I'm dissatisfied with 20 acres, but because I feel like 83 acres total allows us to have a multi-generational plan for the land versus just a place for our generation of kids to play and grow up working on the farm and allows a lot more flexibility to build the farm out.
To do other operations there to expand our footprint in the community, potentially build houses for those in our inner circle to stay in or to buy from us. And I just, I'm really praying the prayer of Jabez right now to have the Lord expand our borders and to give me favor in the eyes of this gentleman.
I don't think. That he's [00:03:00] particularly hard up for the money and, uh, I don't know what his vision is, but my plan is to do some very deliberate preparation on with photos, with videos, with whatever, and give it to him to watch and or look at and just, um, then pray that the Lord would work in his heart to.
Enable us to get the rest. I think that it's easy to look at it and say, ah, our bank account balance and, and the value of that land, and think, I can't afford it. How's that money gonna come? Be absurd to ask the question when we don't have enough. We could never go to a bank. We could never pull it off in our own strengths, but I feel like.
Over and over and over again. God puts me in these positions [00:04:00] and asks me to, to trust him, or I put myself into those positions, frankly. Um, and believe that when it is not something that I did, not something that I made happen, but something that the Lord orchestrates because he likes to bless his children.
Or chooses not to, chooses to bring about suffering, chooses to, you know, but understanding that I am a character in a story that he is writing and trusting the author for the outcome for us. And anyway, we'll see what happens. But, uh, I want to go ahead and just pray real quick here. Um, heavenly Father, um, we know that you.
Bless your children. You bless your, you bless your people, and I'm asking you, Lord [00:05:00] Jesus, to expand our, our Heavenly Father to expand our borders. That we would be able to serve you in a greater way, to bring more people onto the land, to establish a place for our children's children. Not just our children, but our children's children to think beyond the generation that we are currently raising to those that come after.
And that we would faithfully serve them, that we would faithfully fill, fill our responsibilities to them, but also that you would expand our borders to do something bigger than what we have right now, or in bigger, not in sense of getting glory and credit, but bigger in the sense that we can provide a place.
Physically on the ground for future generations, for your heritage, for your [00:06:00] will, for your glory to be proclaimed in the city, in the county, in the state where you have placed us geographically that we would work out a vision and a plan that is aligned with. Dominion over your creation and reflecting you here and now in what we do.
Lord, I pray that you would work in the heart of Mr. Lynch, that you would give me favor in his eyes as I go before him, as I lay out our plan to work out your will with our children and to. Enable us to grow and that you would bring about a miraculous result that would be financially doable for us, that would be, uh, good for him, that would allow a better relationship, that would allow us to work in a relationship with him to work.
Um, where he would know [00:07:00] Jesus better, um, that he would, um, be impacted by what we are trying to do with our family, with the community. That you'd bless that, um, endeavor and if not Lord, that we would not realize that that is, is a lack of faithfulness on your part, but simply that you're writing the story differently that you are.
Willing something else to happen, Lord, that we, um, will take as it comes and do what your will requires, um, as you enable. And I pray all this Lord in the name of your son Jesus. Amen. We'll see how it goes for posterity's sake,
So we ended up listing our duplex in Southern Pines for sale and selling it completely by May [00:08:00] 5th. So January 3rd to May 5th, A was sold and we immediately purchased, uh, additional 34 acres. And, um, I've said this before, but. We kinda had a moment where we could decide to build a home with the almost, I think, almost $400k grand in cash because we sold the house for $775k, I believe, when we bought it for $165k, and we even cashed out a hundred percent of the equity in the home in 2016.
When I got outta the military, that was how I had the cash to purchase the mansion. That was how I had the cash to pay back my signing bonus. That was how I had a little bit of. Cash, not a whole lot left to buy the truck and survive for a couple months while I started the business. So, um, even after taking all that equity out, I was able to, uh, still [00:09:00] get almost another $400,000 on top of that, and we rolled a hundred percent of it into the land because we had to do a like kind exchange and essentially.
I didn't have any money to build on it for years, and so the construction business used it, um, rented it, uh, to store all of our trailers and our machinery and our spare parts and uh, dump trailers and all kinds of stuff. But we couldn't keep any of the money. We had to roll a hundred percent of it into the equity or into the land and keep our mortgage really low, actually on the land.
But we didn't have any money left to buy a house. So there will be more to discuss at a later time, but essentially, uh, I am sitting in a, uh, at least Drywalled, not painted home office in the house on the land that we purchased at the time. So. Uh, [00:10:00] spoiler alert, uh, we didn't die yet and uh, we were able to build some additional stuff.
So whatever you're doing out there, whatever you're thinking about, whatever you have as a vision, do it with prayer and without doubting.
